Twitter Blather: From Acacia to the Microsoft ads stopping

(Pulled up from Twitter with the help of ruby script using Twitter4R, mostly so I can reverse the time order to oldest-first easily, and not have to deal with copy/paste formatting issues.)

Couldn’t get onto ferry to doctor’s appt. Still have to go in, hope for cancel. No choice at this point.

Without a cell phone I may not be able to know if something’s opened or not. It’s depressing. Meds are not working right now. No chance for

(I forget what was supposed to be there. More whinging, I think.)

Dunno what’s worse: bipolar, flashbacks, or friends who don’t think what I have is serious.

I really just want to cry right now. Of course, until the mania upswing. When I don’t know how I’ll feel. I’m scared.

But I have survived a lot of things. I must look at this as an adventure. Just hate having to return to old coping mechanisms.

Going to stock up on food now. Just like LOTR. Need to find lembas.

(Here’s a Lembas recipe. I didn’t have those; I had macademia nut cookies, which are almost as good.)

@ doctor’s office. Now we get to wait for the rest of the day to see if we get in. Time to read.

(In the midst of waiting and doctoring and waiting and ferrying and waiting… spotted rsdevin contemplating Gene Wolfe’s An Evil Guest)

@rsdevin An Evil Guest is Gene Wolfe in top storytelling, genre-blending form. It really is Lovecraftian Blade Runner Noir. Wonderful book.

(And now rsdevin will spend some money. Muhahaha. Also, I seriously need to review the book.)

@ home from doctor. I have medical forms from work to fill out. After some amount of faxing a couple hours from now I’m going to fall over

Everyone’s currently yapping about NO MORE Seinfeld/Gates M$ commercials. Thank *gods*.

(That was a Twitscoop search. Here’s the article at TechCrunch.)

I’ll note that while my concentration has been shattered by bad brain chemistry, David Anthony Durham’s _Acacia_ still holds my attention.

Granted, not as *well* as it would have were my mind not pudding. But folding myself into that world has been a great comfort past 2 days.

(Acacia: Holds up well to a re-read. It’s a must for readers pining for this fall’s volume of George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series. Acacia on Kindle.

Its sequel, The Other Lands, may see print some time next year.

And yes, I need to review this book of awesome. After my brain is put back together.)
