I’m ecstatically happy to see healthcare reform pass.
Because PTSD is a pre-existing condition.
If I ever lose my job, I can continue the sessions with my bartender, and the medication from my candy man—the latter of which also remedies my bipolar disorder (also a pre-existing condition).
A lot of pre-existing conditions are not the fault of the people who have them.
You’d be hard-pressed to conclude that my PTSD is actually my fault.
Unless, of course, you prescribe to the idea that PTSD is something one is willingly afflicted with. In which case, I don’t want to see you here.
If life has taught me anything, it’s that luck can giveth, and luck can taketh, no matter how good or how bad of a person you are. Someday I may elaborate on that. (And alienate plenty of people, I’m sure. Ah well.)
