On Lucid Dreaming

Hey, I know this question comes up whenever I start to talk about my nightmares.

I know that people have said lucid dreaming works for them: that’s cool, and more power to them.

However, having tried this myself for years, I can tell you that it doesn’t work for me.

Lucid dreaming, as my bartender told me when I hated myself for not being able to lucid dream my way out of nightmares, simply doesn’t work for a lot of people.

The most damning thing about trying to lucid dream is that your nightmares can adapt.

And mine do.

(My PTSD also adapts to my coping techniques, so I usually end up with more triggers than I started out with. It’s fun. In a not-at-all fun way.)
