Three good things (and this will be a hard day to do it for, though I’ve had harder days):
1. Chocolate-Vanilla Dairy-Free Ice Cream. I’m not sure how black soybeans make for a subtle chocolate taste, but there it is. It works, it’s creamy, it’s nommy.
2. I had one of the few good dishes at the local Island Grill is Mongolian Ginger Beef—that is, if you like a very sweet version of the dish. SuBI is unfortunately closed on Mondays, but this is a close approximation of their bulgolgi.
3. I got to witness one of the best Mark Reads posts ever. He reads from the final part of The Kindly Ones and gets emotionally crushed. Mark is so sweet, and watching his innocence as he discovers media from my younger days is fascinating. I really need to see more Mark Reads videos; I hadn’t thought to before now.
Things I like about myself: I can write (non-fiction at least).
Life thingies:
I have to cut myself the same breaks I would cut someone else when dealing with the crap my past brings up.
I also need to compile the first set of commit logs. I also need to do these earlier in the evening when I have more energy. -.-
“I have to cut myself the same breaks I would cut someone else when dealing with the crap my past brings up.”
Yes, this – please treat yourself with the same gentleness you would anyone else. Being hard on yourself is just another way to let the demons win. :: hugs ::
