I’m going to need to figure out whether to combine this with my writing updates or not. What do you think, folks? It’d make it easier to find three good things, since writing is starting to intertwine with my life (and I’d like to keep it that way).
Maybe the commit logs will turn into writing blogs? I do not know. I do know there is now a large overlap between three good things and my writing.
Anyways, three good things:
1. Only 1,621 words left to the finish line for NaNoWriMo’s 50k! If not for the actual manuscript ending.
2. I’ve been taking right and left turns with the plot. It feels good to do that, even though it’s me wending down paths that may never be. It’s all stuff I need to write because I never feel like I’ve worked out how my characters would make sense. And one of my issues is that I tried to bind my characters down to an outline, even a loose one. Mistake! I’ve had to wriggle my way out of that several times now. The bird’s eye view of a plot is too remote for me; I need to find a way to make it more intimate.
3. I think I have done so with Scapple.
and so to bed!
Combine away – it’s all part of you.
The ability to work things out in writing is a huge gift. You never know when something you write might be just what someone else needs to read – and couldn’t have read if you hadn’t bothered to put it down.
And if you label things you put out for public consumption, then those folks who aren’t interested in one part can still read the other parts with interest. Win/win.
Well, I don’t know if I can work out the knotty problems in this novel, but I will do my damndest to do so.
