Spiral Knights: Video Killed the Alpha Wolver

It’s been a downer of a weekend and day. But on the upside, I did put together a few videos over the past couple days that you may or may not have seen on my YouTube channel. Which now has three playlists centered around Spiral Knights.

Here are my two favorites for the weekend.

Here’s to a less sucky week. Please dear gods let it get better.

  1. If it helps any, my week just got enormously better. Here’s hoping yours does too.

  2. interesting, didn’t know the breakable blocks around can effect the AI so much lol.

Btw do you control your movement via the left click of mouse? I’m using WASD for movement, and provides much better control to me from a FPS past player :)

    • Obstacles tend to block the Wolvers’ usual tactics, so the AI spends quite a bit of time retreating. Unlike us, monsters can’t destroy blocks. Even homing missile puppies.

I use a gamepad actually. It’s not the best control in the world, but it’s more natural to me than a keyboard or mouse.

      • Actually, i think the Lichen Colonies can destroy blocks and sometimes even enemies with their spin attack by hitting them with thorns. Oh, and a puppy rocket can trigger a ghost block-the blocks that make everything they are connected to disappear. Any enemy attack can break one of those torches that drop coins and stuff. All enemy melee attacks can break bushes.

        • Ah, you’re right about the small bushes. How odd that the rockets don’t seem to harm other blocks (or do they?).

Still, even if Wolvers could destroy the large bushes, that still means it’s another step between me and them, so I can concentrate on a few at a time. And they seem to mostly run around the bushes rather than through them, for some reason.

          • SNARBOLAX IS OUT! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES, er, I mean, RUN TOWARDS HIM AND STEAL EVERY TOKEN HE’S GOT AND GET SOME SWEET NEW 2-STAR GEAR FOR 10 EACH!!!!!!!!!

          • Oh, and Mecha Knights can break regular blocks. Puppy rockets also affect stone blocks. Wheeeeee.
